Suboxone Copay Card & Other Buprenorphine Manufacturer Savings Plans – Through 2015!

Save $75″ & “Suboxone Copay Cards” – Status Through 2015

The Suboxone prescription savings cards and coupons are not as easy to find late in 2014. I regularly scour the internet for the latest and greatest manufacturer savings plans. At first I had no luck in finding a Suboxone deal, but before finishing the article I found one – scroll on down if that is what you want.

I do have another sweet idea though that you may want to read about first.

Prescription Copay Cards – Non-Existent in October of 2014

But do not despair there ARE options for you to save money on the expensive wonder drug! There are variants similar to Suboxone that DO offer very good Pharmacy Cards, and Free Prescriptions.

Suboxone Copay Cards Hard To Find In 2014?

I believe that the recent approval of Suboxone generic is forcing companies to tighten margins due to new competition for Suboxone, Buprenorphine, Subutex and Butrans. With generic available the pharmaceuticals are going to make less money because they will likely need to reduce prices.

How To Save Money on drugs like Suboxone!
Save $200 on Copay vs Suboxone

Alternative to Suboxone with better savings at Butrans.com

There are medications that are very much like Suboxone.

Suboxone has an active ingredient of Buprenorphine and Naloxone. The Buprenorphine is what kills your withdrawal symptoms, the Naloxone is to keep you from abusing opiates it takes the “high” away.

I’ll tell you about the drugs I know of — that contain Buprenorphine and whether they might be a “fair” replacement option for Suboxone.

I’ll list them in order of best savings first.

#1 Suboxone Substitute - $0 Copay Two Months – $200 Savings

B E S T  S A V I N G S  P R O G R A M  for Buprenorphine based drugs.

I personally have experience with Butrans Transdermal System. Butrans is a patch that you wear for an entire week, which is really convenient. The patch releases Buprenorphine into your blood-stream via contact slowly and consistently for a full week. Pretty cool, huh?

In my opinion the patch started wearing off before a week, but it wasn’t too bad. Also sometimes they don’t like to stick on after you take a shower, but overall it works and there are ways to get the patch to re-stick.

Why is the Butrans Patient Assistance Deal Better than any of the Suboxone Copay Cards?

  • The Pharmacy Card card covers the entire cost of the medication.
  • The Card can be used for two script fills, or two months.
  • The Copay Card is worth a total of $200, or $100 each month.

The possible negative…

Butrans Transdermal System doesn’t have Naloxone in it.

The Naloxone is used to keep people from abusing the Buprenorphine or other opiates. So your doctor may not approve the switch, unless you let them know that the cost is a serious burden and you could not afford medication otherwise.

Many doctors prefer patch delivery because daily dose medications are more abused, and the process of taking a pill every day can contribute to psychological dependence. There is something to be said for waking up and feeling good, not having to take a pill or strip.

Some technical info and legal info from the manufacturer website…

Manufacturer Legal & Technical Info

Butrans® (buprenorphine) Transdermal System is indicated for the management of pain severe enough to require daily, around-the-clock, long-term opioid treatment and for which alternative treatment options are inadequate.

WARNING: ADDICTION, ABUSE and MISUSE; LIFE-THREATENING RESPIRATORY DEPRESSION; ACCIDENTAL EXPOSURE; and NEONATAL OPIOID WITHDRAWAL SYNDROME

Other Suboxone Replacements With Savings Cards – Coming Soon!

I’m running out of time so will post at least half a dozen more Suboxone alternatives in the coming days so you might want to bookmark this page, I’ll update this page with the new links. Yeah, this blog is actually created by a human being and not a computer. But I enjoy helping others and make a few bucks off the ads so don’t be sad for me. :)

The patch is the BEST deal out there though if your doc can get over the Naloxone not being there it will save you a bundle of money!

Guess What? – The Suboxone Copay Card IS Still Available!

I did not see it earlier today, but I checked again and it is there! It is only $50 but better than nothing.

Save on SUBOXONE Film

Save every month on SUBOXONE Film

The instructions are pretty much the same. Get a script from your doctor and print your savings card. This deal is good until the end of 2014 so you have three months left. There is a limit of one prescription per month, so it pays $50 monthly which is pretty sweet (for people with insurance).

The savings cover Suboxone Film in 2mg or 8mg dosages.

Legal & Important Stuff: People who have taken buprenorphine have suffered serious breathing problems and death—especially when taking buprenorphine by injection, and in combination with benzodiazepines or other central nervous system depressants (including alcohol).

Each doctor may have a small number available, but if you don’t ask you’ll never know whether you could have landed one of his/her free allotments of the drug. Not all doctors participate in the program but make a note to ask your doctor next time you visit.

I hope that this tip helps you make the cost of Buprenorphine treatment less costly. Don’t forget to stop back tomorrow for the second little-known secret on how you can get Suboxone/Buprenorphine at a huge discount and/or free.

Suboxone / Buprenorphine Reader – Shopping Perks

We just opened a new Amazon Store on one of our other Blogs so I thought I’d share it, in hopes you’d maybe bookmark it because even bookmarking it or just visiting it can put a few bones into my pocket and as you know we could all use a few extra bones. Plus everything is Amazon super low price, no catch, they pay referral fees to anyone on most purchases. My store is pretty ugly right now but I posted only the top value items for their category.

Quitting Suboxone or Buprenorphine on your own – Why is it so hard?

Why is Quitting Buprenorphine, Suboxone or other opiates so hard?

Voluntary control – Decision to take medicine

The initial decision to take a medicine or drug is considered voluntary control.

Once you start taking an addictive or dependent drug for a period of time and your body gets used to being under that influence, you are non longer under voluntary control. Your control is seriously compromised because you suffer major pain or uncomfortable feelings when you don’t take the Buprenorphine.

It can become very expensive to be addicted to Buprenorphine

Eventually the decision to take Suboxone was voluntary, but it becomes more and more important to the point that much of your day can go into planning on how to obtain the medications. So you need to find ways to save money on the purchases.

brain_thought

Brain Changes After Addiction – Long Term or Longer

Opiate addiction can impair the mechanism by which information from certain areas of the brain—handle judgment or caution. The brain will satisfy the need for opiates like it does for the need when hungry or thirsty.

Brain imaging studies of addicts show physical changes in parts of the brain related to judgment, decision making and even learning or memory. So the dependence can be very destructive.

If You Still Feel You Need for Buprenorphine, You can find many ways to save money on the purchase here. See the side bar.
